What is the campsite like?

You are camping on a working cattle property, so the occasional, curious cow or bull might stride on by. Please do not make any sudden movements as this will scare them. If you are uncomfortable with how close they get, please just walk towards them with open arms, they will back away. During tours, we ask that you move outlying items closer to your camp and pack away any electrical cords (to the Genny or Starlink). Our lands are dry and dusty, and we have native grasses which have burrs and thorns.  Please always wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Camping in the Desert Uplands is a beautiful experience with sunsets and sunrises that are magnificent, however we also have the critters, so please always be aware of snakes, lizards and spiders.

Where do we park?

Please remain in the designated, cleared areas. Please CHECK above you when choosing a campsite and DO NOT park under trees or large branches, you do so at your own risk.

Question 3

How long can I stay?

You are welcome to spend up to a maximum of 6 days at your campsite. Camp set-up time is from 2pm on the Friday before the tour date.

Question 4

Are there toilets and showers on site?

We have had an amenities block built on site.  It has hot and cold shower, and a fully plumbed toilet. Please respect these amenities and leave them in a good order when you have finished.  Please keep the door closed at all times. (Note, as we use bore water for the toilet, the bowl is stained a rust colour!)

Can I bring my pets?

Your fur babies MUST be on a leash at all times. No exceptions. Please note due to the presence of dingoes and wild pigs, please do not leave your pets unattended.  They MUST be contained INSIDE your caravan during tours. Please note that there is sticky grass and burrs on the property, so dogs with long hair will benefit from wearing a coat/jumper which covers their legs and underbelly and booties for their feet.

Are there any noise concerns?

Generators may be used between the hours of 8.30am and 4pm. Please keep music at a level to be enjoyed by your camp only. No loud music day or night. Please have consideration for your fellow campers.

Where can I dump grey water?

Please direct grey water toward trees or grass if possible.

Fire pits and fire wood

Accepted Answer

Fires are only permitted in the allocated fire-pits in the White Lake area. Please do not light fires anywhere else as there are sacred grounds in the vicinity. By adhering to this policy, we preserve our sacred sites and reduce the risk of bush fires. We ask that all able-bodied campers assist in collecting firewood for the communal fire pits, and once they have been replenished, you are more than welcome to take some timbers with you for your next stop.

Can I refill water?

You may fill up your water tanks at our designated water point. Full time connection to our tap is NOT permitted.

Tour information

Accepted Answer

Tours will leave from the campsite at the prearranged times, and you will be collected by the Tour Team.  The tours are not pet friendly and they will need to be left in your caravan for the duration.

Question 11

Where does rubbish get thrown out?

We collect aluminium cans. Please DO NOT crush the cans as our local recycling point will not accept them.  We have both recycling and waste bins available on site.  Please use consideration and only deposit the waste generated during your stay.

Question 12

Where do we dispose of black water?

Accepted Answer

A black water facility is provided on site, and we ask that you respect this amenity by ensuring it is left clean and please close the lid.

Can I fly my drone?

Use of drones is only permitted with prior permission.
